There will be no increase in utility tariffs in Kyiv from May 1, but changes will occur.
Despite the current moratorium on increasing utility tariffs in Kyiv from May 1, some categories of citizens will still face changes in their payment documents, Politeka.net reports.
According to government officials, no price increase is planned in the near future, so the vast majority of Ukrainians will continue to pay for electricity at the usual rate.
The increase in utility tariffs in Kyiv from May 1 will not affect electricity bills. The price of electricity for household consumers will remain unchanged - UAH 4.32 per kWh. The corresponding decision was enshrined in a government decree.
However, from May 1, the payment procedure for households with electric heating will change. Previously, they used a preferential rate of UAH 2.64 per kWh for consumption of up to 2,000 kWh per month. Now this discount is canceled, and this category of consumers will pay the total price of UAH 4.32 per kWh.
Regarding gas, there is no expectation of an increase in utility tariffs in Kyiv from May 1. Naftogaz of Ukraine has extended the Fixed plan, according to which the cost of gas is UAH 7.96 per cubic meter. This price will remain in effect until at least the end of April 2026. The government also assures that the price of gas will not increase at least until the end of martial law and for six months after its cancellation.
As for the cost of water supply, there is a ban on their increase in Ukraine - for both cold and hot water. However, against the background of a general rise in the cost of resources, citizens are expressing concern about a possible revision of the cost of services in the future.
