Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman said that Trump could even lose the congressional elections, since he has still failed to strike a single successful deal, while his efforts regarding Iran and the Gaza Strip have been a complete failure, Politeka reports.

He made the remarks on his blog.

“Trump is not a lame duck yet, but he is starting to limp. Just look at the situation. The congressional elections will take place on November 4. Less than three months remain until these midterm elections. Less than three months, and there is a strong possibility — not a certainty, but a strong possibility — that Trump will lose the congressional elections. So now is the right time to take stock of Trump’s performance,” Mikhail Sheitelman said.

According to the expert, Trump himself has said that many people consider him one of the greatest presidents, but one only needs to look at the situation in the Middle East. Iran, he noted, has said that it now has new terms for the management of the Strait of Hormuz and does not like the U.S. proposal, so it is offering its own version. Before that, the expert recalled, Trump had proposed putting Vance forward as president because he had supposedly successfully negotiated a deal with Iran — only to find out that there was no deal at all.

As for the Gaza Strip, he recalled that there was a Board of Peace attended by the presidents of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Argentina, Egypt and Indonesia, who pledged money and troops, while Kushner presented a plan to build six-star hotels. Yet only now has the first construction permit been issued in the Gaza Strip — for a barracks for 150 Moroccan soldiers. Israel, the expert said, has rejected the U.S. plan for the Gaza Strip outright and will not withdraw its troops until Hamas is completely disarmed. In his view, if Ukraine had reached an agreement with Witkoff and Kushner, we would have been handed another plan a year later as well, with everything changed, including the removal of any European troops, and so on.

“The Israeli government — although I’m not sure whether this is official or not — says that if the United States decides to sign a peace agreement with Iran, we will fight on our own, without the Americans. Is that what Trump calls negotiating? The master of deals. Where is even one deal? Show me. Where is a single one of Trump’s famous deals? Where are his peace agreements? Where are they all? It hasn’t been 24 hours — it’s been two years minus three months,” Mikhail Sheitelman concluded.
