Political expert and military officer Oleksandr Musienko said that even Trump no longer believes in a quick peace, so he will apparently focus on a 30-day ceasefire and further negotiations, Politeka reports.

According to the expert, Trump said in an interview with NBC News that a peace agreement between Ukraine and Russia may be unattainable due to the deep hostility between the parties, and that he was sometimes close to abandoning his peacemaking efforts, but positive things happened.
“Trump recognizes that at this stage, the peace settlement and proposals require a different approach. If earlier it was pressure, a desire to reach decisions very quickly, to bring Ukraine and Russia to the negotiating table, and we thought that this could happen in 24 hours, in a week, in 90 days, that it was so easy and simple, now we see that these ideas of the American president and his team are obviously being shattered,” says Oleksandr Musienko.
Obviously, he states, the US remains in the negotiation process, but is changing its strategy, now they will move towards peace in small steps, starting from the establishment of a 30-day ceasefire. Further, the expert argues, negotiations will be organized between Ukraine, Russia, the US and Europe at one table or only between Ukraine and Russia. And if this is a long game, he emphasizes, then there must be a certain approach, which will obviously be developed by Marco Rubio, because he will now be both Secretary of State and National Security Advisor.
"Most likely, this will be a freeze of the conflict at this stage and further peace negotiations after the establishment of a ceasefire, which may last for a long time. At the same time, it cannot be ruled out that the US will continue to provide assistance to Ukraine, perhaps even increase the provision of weapons and introduce sanctions against Russia. So far, this is the situation from what is visible. America, despite everything, is not leaving the negotiations for now, although we see that Trump is now more pessimistic about Putin," concludes Oleksandr Musienko.
