Political expert and military officer Oleksandr Musienko explained why the Russian troops are suffering such heavy losses and whether the Kremlin is able to restore them in order to continue the offensive, Politeka reports.

"As the Russian military themselves sometimes write about it, the Ukrainian army is deploying such a highly effective curtain of drones that it does not allow the defense to pass through. Plus, artillery is working, plus other types of weapons are working. Therefore, based on this, losses are growing. And we see that they are reaching new levels with each passing month," Oleksandr Musienko notes.
According to him, losses are also growing in artillery systems that Russia is thawing and removing from storage, in particular those that were released almost immediately after the end of World War II. The statistics for April will be out soon and we will see, the expert claims, that another record of Russian artillery losses has been broken.
“And therefore, of course, these losses must be restored. How does Russia do this? In different ways. One of them is the classic one, that is, mobilization, which for obvious reasons is not called that in Russia, since Putin wants to make a good impression for a bad game, to create the impression and illusion that the losses are being made up exclusively by volunteers, contract workers,” explains Oleksandr Musienko.
So, he states, to replenish the losses at the front in Russia, forced mobilization is underway and the signing of contracts is encouraged with high cash payments, which was not talked about much before, in order to create the impression that the war is exclusively patriotic. And the last method, the expert adds, is military personnel from other states, the first subcategory is regular troops, for example, North Korean, and the second is mercenaries, for example, from South America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
