Free housing for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Kyiv is available through various platforms and channels.

According to Politeka, free housing continues to be provided to those who were forced to leave their homes due to the war.

Several assistance programs for IDPs are currently active in the capital, offering temporary accommodation in government institutions and private residences.

One of the most common ways to secure a temporary place to stay is by contacting the Center for Administrative Services (CNAP) at your current location. After registering, displaced persons can apply for temporary housing in dormitories or shelter centers. Free housing in Kyiv is primarily provided to the most vulnerable groups — large families, people with disabilities, pensioners, pregnant women, and families with children.

Another convenient option is the “Prykhystok” platform — an online space where people willing to offer a roof over someone’s head post their listings. For example, in the Zhuliany district, one homeowner is offering a separate room in exchange for light household help — mowing the lawn, cleaning the yard. It’s a mutually beneficial initiative that helps those in need find shelter while supporting those offering assistance.
