Journalist Kateryna Kotenkova has shared what changes Ukrainians should expect in May, particularly regarding tariffs, gas bills, and subsidies, according to Politeka.
She spoke about this on the Znaі.ua channel.

According to the journalist, tariffs in May will remain unchanged, but they may be revised in June, as was the case last year, particularly with electricity tariffs.

"Starting from May 1, there will be a new gas bill. What kind of bill is this? People will begin to receive additional gas invoices, despite the moratorium on price increases. This reminds me of the gas delivery bill—it's the same thing. This will be a bill for the technical maintenance of in-house gas pipelines. That is, everything that used to be done at the state’s expense, they now want to do at the expense of ordinary people," — says Kateryna Kotenkova.

As the journalist explains, the cost of this service will be determined individually for each building, depending on the length of the pipeline, the number of gas valves and connections, and the total will be divided among all the residents of the building. According to her, this bill will have to be paid once every 3 years if the building’s gas networks are over 25 years old, and once every 5 years if they are younger than 25 years.

"And, as you know, in May subsidies are reviewed and assigned for the next heating season. For most consumers, these payments will be recalculated automatically, but those whose circumstances have changed—such as property status, household composition, or income—will need to submit an application for subsidy review," — adds Kateryna Kotenkova .
