Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko stated that after the G7 summit, it became clear that Europe and Ukraine will have to deal with Russia on their own, while the U.S. will focus solely on the Middle East, Politeka reports.
He shared this in his blog.

“On the eve of the summit, European leaders held a meeting where a number of consistent issues and points were discussed that need to be addressed. In particular, these include tightening sanctions against Russia, setting oil prices at $45 per barrel, providing aid to Ukraine, and the possibility for Ukraine to purchase American weapons using various funds, including support from our European partners,” Oleksandr Musiienko noted.

In addition, the expert added that Ukrainian President Zelensky was expected to attend the G7 summit. He is known for consistently defending Ukraine’s national interests at a high level and is one of the few leaders not afraid to speak openly with Trump about today’s global security issues and challenges.

“I believe the U.S. president, for certain reasons, was likely not prepared for such a conversation and discussion. That is why he left the summit early—to avoid holding meetings and delving into matters specifically related to European security. And this, by the way, is a signal to European countries. Note that the agenda during the time the U.S. president was present focused on the Middle East, and the communiqué signed by the U.S. pertains to the Iran-Israel conflict,” Musiienko explained.

Therefore, he concludes, European leaders now face the task of holding serious discussions and making decisions to support Ukraine—specifically, regarding joint arms production, investments in Ukraine’s defense-industrial complex, and arms purchases, which will help strengthen the security of not only Ukraine but also Europe.
