Political strategist Kateryna Odarchenko explained that the United States supports Israel and Taiwan not without reason—their cooperation is primarily based on economic benefit, Politeka reports.
She shared this insight on Ruslan Bortnyk's channel.

According to Odarchenko, many Ukrainians live with the belief that the world owes them something, but Ukraine is an independent state that builds alliances with Western partners, and therefore the idea of being “owed” something is the wrong mindset. In her view, Ukraine must explain to its partners why they should help, particularly from an economic perspective.

"From my modest experience working with Republicans, I see that economic benefit and economic policy are key for them. It’s not just about creating ten investment agencies that, in reality, don’t channel any money or investment projects, apart from budget aid, energy support, and so on," Odarchenko explains.

She points out that Israel and Taiwan are in a somewhat similar geopolitical situation and dependent on U.S. military aid, just like Ukraine. However, both have strong economic cooperation with the U.S. Israel contributes significant intellectual property, with many Israeli companies listed on American stock exchanges. Taiwan, meanwhile, is a major producer of microchips that are crucial to the U.S.

“We also need not just to talk about, for example, military production, but to actually do it,” she stresses. “From my experience working with Western companies, I can say that at least three large European and American firms, unfortunately, refused to enter the Ukrainian market due to very basic reasons—corruption in land allocation at the local level,” Odarchenko concludes.
