Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman stated that Trump has so far failed to end the Russia-Ukraine war partly because it is being handled—along with many other matters—by Steven Witkoff, who lacks expertise in these areas, according to Politeka.
He shared this in his blog.
As the expert notes, on the Spanish island of Ibiza—famous for parties involving banned substances—this past weekend, U.S. Presidential Special Representative Steven Witkoff and Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani discussed a plan to end the war in the Gaza Strip and secure the release of all remaining hostages.
"Where are we, where is Ibiza, where is Gaza, where is Qatar? But maybe that’s the whole issue we faced last week. The fact that the same person—who has not been officially appointed to this position, hasn’t undergone any security clearance, and hasn’t been vetted by the CIA, FBI, or anyone else—Mr. Steven Witkoff, is somehow handling everything in the world today," says Mikhail Sheitelman.
He emphasizes that Witkoff is dealing with Iran, the Gaza Strip, Qatar, Russia, and even signing deals with the Azerbaijani oil company SOCAR. According to the expert, the contract was officially signed by the director of ExxonMobil, but oddly enough, standing behind him wasn’t the U.S. president, the secretary of state, or the energy secretary—it was Witkoff, who has no formal connection to any of it.
"And what must be going on in this man’s head, soul, heart—and most importantly, in his pocket—considering he’s involved in all of this at once? And Witkoff has left our war and our fate hanging by a thread. Some mysterious Steven Witkoff, who came out of nowhere and is known to no one," Sheitelman concludes.
