Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman explained that Trump can only be eligible for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2026, meaning he still has time to end the war in Ukraine without making concessions to Putin, Politeka reports.

He discussed this in his blog.

“The Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of Azerbaijan, the Prime Minister of Cambodia, the President of Gabon, the Prime Minister of Israel, the Government of Pakistan, the Foreign Minister of Rwanda. I think it’s clear to everyone – this is the list of people and organizations who have already nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize. This list was published on the White House website. The White House nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize,” said Mikhail Sheitelman.

Some, the expert notes, believe that Trump has a Nobel Peace Prize deadline of October 1 – meaning he must complete all his “Herculean feats,” including ending the Russia-Ukraine war through concessions to Putin, by that date.

“That’s simply not the case. Let me make it clear – there’s no such concern. Why can’t Trump be considered for this year’s prize? Because the nomination period for the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize ended on January 31 of this year. So, Trump can no longer receive the 2025 Nobel; only the 2026 one. Therefore, Trump's real deadline regarding our war is January 31 – now we know that,” explains Mikhail Sheitelman.
