Military expert Oleg Starikov explained that the agreements between Trump and Zelensky in the Oval Office remain unknown to us, but the conversation was tense, and the US made its position clear, Politeka reports.

He said this on his channel.

"In the end, some believe it was a staged performance, others – that everything is obvious. In reality, nothing is clear, everything is swept under the rug of negotiations. As actor Leonid Bronevoy, playing Müller, once said to Stierlitz (played by Vyacheslav Tikhonov) in the classic spy film: clarity is one of the forms of complete fog," noted Oleg Starikov.

According to the expert, the meeting between Zelensky, European leaders, and Trump in Washington was tense, but everyone played their roles carefully and stayed within limits not to anger the irritable Trump – and that shows fear or concerns, which also means respect. He also reminded that even before the meeting, Trump had already outlined its results by writing on social media: "President Zelensky can practically end the war with Russia immediately if he wants to, or continue the fight. Some things never change."

"In other words, the US is stepping away from Biden’s war and shifting the entire responsibility to the EU. As I have repeatedly said, for Americans war is business; if it doesn’t bring profit, they calculate the losses and shut the business down," explained Oleg Starikov.

As the expert summed up, the time when Europe told the US what needed to be done, how much money and weapons to allocate to Ukraine, while sitting back and just managing the process, is over. Trump has made it clear, he states, that Europe must now be able to defend itself without the US. Weapons will still be sold, but only for real money.
