Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko commented on the dispute between Ukraine, Slovakia, and Hungary regarding the Druzhba oil pipeline and explained how it could be easily resolved, reports Politeka.

Recently, Musiienko noted, President Zelensky jokingly teased the Hungarians about “friendship” and the Druzhba oil pipeline, which was struck twice last week by the Ukrainian Armed Forces — an incident that greatly angered Slovakia and Hungary. Slovak Prime Minister Blanár stated that due to these strikes, his country is not receiving enough raw material to produce diesel fuel, which is exported to Ukraine. Meanwhile, Hungarian Prime Minister Szijjártó stressed that attacks on the Druzhba pipeline are attacks on his country’s energy security. According to the expert, this is a very old issue, but Ukraine’s Foreign Minister suggests a solution — diversification.
“Calls for diversification are absolutely right. Let’s be honest. Is everything tied only to Russia? Who would believe that? These are states in the heart of Europe — they can deepen cooperation, sign agreements. Clearly, things cannot continue as before: the war has been ongoing since 2014, with a full-scale invasion since 2022; sanctions are imposed on Russia; neighbors are doing everything possible to diversify; even neutral countries like Austria are declaring that by 2027–28 they intend to fully abandon Russian gas and oil,” Oleksandr Musiienko commented.
Moreover, he emphasized, no one is asking Hungary and Slovakia to arm the Ukrainian Armed Forces — the issue is about limiting the flow of blood-stained money to Russia, which it then uses for its genocidal war against Ukraine and for threatening Europe’s interests.
“I hope that, in the end, at least the right conclusions will be drawn — that diversification is necessary and that relying exclusively on supplies from Russia is no solution. We hope our partners will do so. And Ukraine will defend its interests both in the East and in the West, if needed,” Oleksandr Musiienko concluded."
