Political scientist Vitaliy Kulyk explained that there will be no strong NATO stance or reaction to provocations from the Russian Federation, so partners should themselves turn to Ukraine for assistance, Politeka reports.
He discussed this on the channel "7 krokiv."

"Let’s start with the obvious: this Russian attack did not fall under Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty. Even during the Cold War, airspace incursions by the Soviet Union did not trigger Article 5. All the more so, that will not happen now. One should not expect NATO leaders to qualify this attack as an act of aggression," Vitaliy Kulyk asserts.

If you accept that premise, the expert notes, it follows that you should not expect a consistent NATO position or response to counter similar attacks in the future. However, he points out, even in the absence of political will and a firm stance from NATO, and despite the Alliance’s unwillingness to react harshly, we can still gain certain benefits.

First, the expert emphasizes, no one is better at countering drones than Ukrainians — we face this threat every single day — and that experience can be shared; we can train our partners. Second, he continues, Ukraine and its partners can cooperate on target detection, information exchange, and the joint use of air defense systems.

"Building EW systems, producing counter-drone tools, tracking systems, systems connected to mobile groups that are supposed to shoot down drones… There are a lot of areas in which we can cooperate, teach, and attract funding from Western colleagues outside the aid packages we receive. So money — plus; capabilities — plus; ammunition — plus; EW — plus," Vitaliy Kulyk concludes.
