Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman stated that every threat Lukashenko makes toward Ukraine brings closer the day when the Ukrainian Armed Forces will turn their attention to Belarus, which is already involved in the war, reports Politeka.
He shared his opinion in his blog.
"If Medvedev tries to intimidate Trump by telling him not to supply Tomahawks, then Lukashenko tries to scare Zelensky, telling him not to take Tomahawks. Seriously? He says otherwise Ukraine might disappear as a state. And who is speaking here? The president of what? The non-existent state of Belarus, across which Russian barbarians march back and forth, bringing in and withdrawing troops as they please? The self-proclaimed president Lukashenko himself said they came for exercises and left through Kyiv—he couldn’t command them. That’s the situation. The president of a potato country without potatoes is going to tell us which state is going to disappear... Belarus doesn’t exist. Just look — most of the intelligent population has left, the rest are sewing uniforms for the Russian army. And you call that a country?" Sheitelman comments.
According to Lukashenko, he continues, the problem lies with Zelensky — he should be pressured to make the "right" decision. Europe, he claims, wants to take Western Ukraine for itself, so Kyiv needs to understand that no one but Slavic states will bring them happiness.
"After the kind of ‘happiness’ brought by certain Slavic states," the expert remarks, "you’d want to hang a sign saying 'Slavic states not allowed.' The Russian army has wiped Ukrainian cities off the map and killed hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians, and the Belarusian leadership allowed attacks on Ukraine from its territory and let missiles be launched. And now Lukashenko says Trump just has his own negotiation tactics and we shouldn't take it seriously if Tomahawks arrive tomorrow.
They will arrive. They definitely will. And they’ll hit Belarus too at some point, because sooner or later Belarus, with such a president, will enter the war. Some in Belarus believe Lukashenko is a guarantor of peace. That’s not true. Belarus is already in the war. It was from Belarusian territory that the war came to us. Therefore, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have the legal right to enter Belarusian territory, including with the use of Tomahawks. What did you expect? When the time comes, they will be used. And every such statement by Lukashenko brings that day closer," concludes Mikhail Sheitelman.
