Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman stated that wars and conflicts in the world should not be reduced to personal animosity between national leaders — there are always deeper causes, and one side is always the aggressor, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this in his blog.

“Some not very healthy and not very noble forces in the world are trying to turn a real, profound conflict into a supposedly personal confrontation. For example, they claim that the war between Russia and Ukraine stems from some kind of personal feud between Putin and Zelensky. Well, first of all, Putin attacked Crimea when Poroshenko wasn’t even president yet, the war in Donbas began under Poroshenko, and the full-scale invasion started under Zelensky. That’s a weak argument,” Sheitelman emphasizes.

Therefore, the expert notes, a much stronger argument is that all of this has deep and real root causes. The Russian Federation, he explains, is a fascist entity that seeks the genocide of neighboring peoples — their destruction, subjugation, the theft of their property, and the annexation of their territories. That is the true reason for the war, not the fact that Putin supposedly dislikes Zelensky.

“I’ve never been to Venezuela, but for some reason, with… I was going to say 99%, but no — with 100% certainty, I can tell you the situation there is exactly the same. What does it even mean that Rubio doesn’t like Maduro? Come on. Seriously? Before Maduro, there was another leader. And what — did anyone like him? No, the same thing. The conflict with Venezuela has been going on for decades. Venezuela supports fascist regimes in Eurasia — Lukashenko’s regime, Putin’s regime. So there’s nothing new here,” Sheitelman explains.

Rubio, he concludes, was simply the first to have the courage to propose striking Venezuela. Whether the U.S. will actually strike or not, we’ll soon find out — it could happen at any moment, especially since the aircraft carrier has already approached the coast, and every day it sits there costs money. The expert also reminds us of Chekhov’s gun principle: if there’s an aircraft carrier on the stage, it will fire — otherwise, why is it there at all?
