Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko explained that Ukraine, together with its European partners, will conduct exercises of the Joint Expeditionary Force (JEF) and elaborated on what this might mean, Politeka reports.
He discussed this in his blog.

According to the expert, a meeting of the Joint Expeditionary Force took place in Norway, where participating countries agreed on joint efforts to deter Russian aggression. Ukraine, he emphasized, agreed to conduct joint exercises with 10 European countries, mainly from Northern Europe and the Baltic states—those nations that have been actively supporting Ukraine.

“I would like to draw attention to the fact that these joint forces are called expeditionary. And expeditionary forces, as a rule, are formed to operate beyond the borders of their own countries—that’s the global historical practice. It’s possible that we are now witnessing the creation of precisely that corps of forces which will train together with Ukraine in preparation for certain operations on Ukrainian territory. This cannot be ruled out,” — commented Oleksandr Musiienko.

He noted that the joint exercises will involve, among others, the Baltic and Scandinavian countries, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Iceland, which seek to learn from Ukraine’s combat experience to strengthen their collective operational capabilities.

According to the expert, British Defense Secretary John Healey aptly stated that this represents a strong signal to Putin and other potential aggressors that the Joint Expeditionary Force is now stronger, more cohesive, innovative, and flexible in its operations than ever before.

“So, the expeditionary forces—ten countries. Perhaps this is already a signal that they are ready to go further than others; that is, they are ready to deploy their forces on the territory of Ukraine. And that would be the right move—a very correct step,” — concluded Oleksandr Musiienko.
