Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiyenko said that European countries are not only unprepared to defend against the same drones, but are even reluctant to call them Russian, Politeka reports.

He discussed this in his blog.
According to the expert, Belgium still cannot cope on its own with drones near its airports and other sites, so British forces will provide personnel and equipment to help the country counter the threats. Although, he emphasizes, the commander of the Royal Air Force, Richard Knighton, cautiously noted that they do not know the origin of these unmanned aerial vehicles.

“But whose drones are they? Whose are unidentified? Who? The Belgians launched them, the British, the Germans? Yes, possibly citizens of those countries, but acting on orders from Russian intelligence services. Russia has been identified as a likely perpetrator. Well, that’s how it is. But the fact remains — Belgium is asking for help, and Britain and France will send it. That says something about the unreadiness of some countries, Belgium in particular, to counter unmanned aerial systems. And Belgium is one of the countries where the US bases nuclear-capable platforms — that is, bombers and aircraft, and the bombs themselves, the nuclear warheads. So the situation is serious,” Oleksandr Musiyenko explains.

Moreover, he adds, President Zelensky said in an interview with The Guardian that Putin could attack one of the European countries right now, and to think this would only happen after the conquest of all Ukraine is a mistake.

“No, Russia can do it now. And I agree with the president; I keep saying the same thing. You shouldn’t count on a tank advance as some are now discussing in German or other staffs. It should be understood that this attack is already happening hybrid-style — drones, and then there may be more aggressive acts. Therefore, helping Ukraine to destroy the enemy, bolstering NATO’s eastern flank, and integrating Ukraine into a unified European defense complex — these are irreversible processes. Of course, unless Europe wants to commit suicide and simply give in to Russia,” concludes Oleksandr Musiyenko.
