Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman stated that there is nothing behind these negotiations, because the Russians are conducting them with themselves: first they write a peace plan, and then they reject it, Politeka reports.

He discussed this on his blog.

The so-called peace negotiations. Why ‘so-called’? You probably already know. Because none of this leads anywhere. It’s all turning into a real circus. It’s this multiplication of peace plans… You’ve probably seen so many points, so many plans that I’m sure none of you could figure them out even with half a liter. And my suggestion is simple: don’t. I’m telling you—don’t try to figure out what the plan is or who sent it to whom and why. It’s an optical illusion. A smokescreen behind which there is simply nothing. Just pure emptiness,” Sheitelman claims.

According to the expert, while there is active fighting at the front and no electricity in the rear, while Ukraine is being forced to hold elections during the war, the Russians and Americans are essentially negotiating with themselves. That is, he explains, Putin wrote a peace plan, gave it to Whitcoff, Whitcoff flew to Moscow, Putin rejected it, told him to rewrite it, and so on.

But seriously, the ‘negotiations’ they are trying to conduct now are like two different worlds. There are two parallel worlds that have nothing to do with each other: the world of so-called negotiations and the world of the real war,” Sheitelman emphasizes.

As for the war itself, the expert says that if you listen to Trump in the original, he says ‘Russia has upper hand’, and upper hand is a poker term meaning the best card. That is, he explains, Trump still talks about the Russian-Ukrainian war not seriously, but in card-game terminology—although he probably plays badly himself, which is why he went into politics to somehow make up for it.
