Military expert Oleh Starikov explained why, beyond the territorial issue, discussions are currently focused on the fate of the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, and assessed how beneficial the U.S. proposal is for Ukraine, Politeka reports.
He spoke about this on his channel.
“How do the Americans think? They look at it from the standpoint of economics and security. They propose using it 50–50 (ed. – to distribute electricity between Ukraine and Russia), but I think the idea is slightly different. They propose building a massive data center. And this will be an element of the sixth technological cycle. Huge databases will be stored there. Not in Greenland, but right here—though this is territory that will still need to be restored,” Oleh Starikov explains.
According to the expert, one of the key elements of the postwar world order is humanitarian demining of territory. Demining 1 m² of land, he emphasizes, costs from 1 to 5 dollars, and to demine the entire territory of Ukraine, by various estimates, could require up to a trillion dollars.
Already now, the expert says, there are serious behind-the-scenes games underway to decide who will handle humanitarian demining, and the sums involved are substantial. As he explains, humanitarian demining will proceed through the UN, meaning countries will have to pay contributions to the UN anyway—so it’s better to pay their own companies, which will come to Ukraine and carry out this work, and even better—to set up a data center in order to profit from humanitarian demining.
“The U.S. will give Ukraine security. And within what framework will they provide security? They bring business here. And once business comes here, it will be the strongest security system possible. They will ensure security as on their own territory. This is the foundation of foundations. And second, they will develop high-tech production. A data center, and there will naturally be workers—new technologies, new jobs. And in Ukraine, thank God, a solid secondary education and a solid higher education have still been preserved, meaning the population’s education level is high. This isn’t ten thousand Bangladeshis,” Oleh Starikov concludes.
