Political analyst and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko said that Russia will soon lose another ally—Venezuela under the Maduro regime, into which it invested large sums of money and weaponry, Politeka reports.

He spoke about this on his blog.

“Things are tense in Venezuela; another vessel has been hit. Trump said that the United States will continue to block Maduro’s fleet and confiscate Venezuelan oil. Aircraft at U.S. bases in South America are ready to carry out strikes. The concentration in the Caribbean today is very large. The largest U.S. naval grouping since the invasion of Panama has been deployed there. Its structure indicates preparations for a possible comprehensive operation that includes air dominance, a naval blockade, and even a potential amphibious landing,” Oleksandr Musiienko says.

As the Associated Press writes, he notes, Russia has begun evacuating the families of its diplomats from Venezuela. The Foreign Ministry, the expert adds, of course denies this information, but the Associated Press is a reliable source, so the Russians really are frightened and are fleeing.

“So what will Putin do to help his little ally Maduro? I want to remind you that Russia supplied Venezuela with weapons worth billions of dollars: aircraft, Buk air-defense systems, and S-300s. And then Russia forgave the debt. Putin wrote off Maduro’s debt; Russia simply subsidized Venezuela with billions of dollars. Russians paid taxes, Putin handed over weapons worth billions to Maduro, and now he doesn’t want to defend him. They’re not even sending Wagner fighters there. The remnants of this group aren’t flying there either. Although earlier some Russian planes with Wagner fighters were recorded, now there are none. Those are the kinds of ‘allies,’” Oleksandr Musiienko asserts.

In addition, he recalls, Putin did not help Assad in Syria either, even though Russia also invested billions there and transferred weapons. Likewise, the expert adds, Putin did not help Armenia—his ally in the CSTO—during the war against Azerbaijan, and now he will not help Venezuela either. That is, Russia is weakening on all fronts.
