Political analyst and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko explained that the Caspian Sea cannot be used for aggression, therefore all ships carrying weapons that travel through it to Russia should be sunk, Politeka reports.
He spoke about this on his blog.
“An Iranian cargo ship is sinking in the Caspian Sea. It follows the same route as vessels that transport weapons from Iran to Russia. From October 2024 to December 2025, the cargo ship entered the ports of Astrakhan, Makhachkala, and Azov 20 times. It arrived there from Iranian ports. At present, the cargo ship was carrying out another voyage to Astrakhan,” Oleksandr Musiienko says.
Most likely, the expert notes, the vessel was carrying cargo, which means there are losses, because Iran, despite protest actions, continues supplies to Russia and consistently supports the Putin regime. In his opinion, this did not happen by chance; most likely there was an explosion in the engine room or something similar, which has already happened to various ships before.
“It really is necessary to strike Russian ships, especially those involved in transporting weapons. Obviously, our Defense and Security Forces, our special services, are reaching the Caspian. If it was relatively calm for the enemy there before, now it will not be. And the fact that this cargo ship is sinking is proof of that,” Oleksandr Musiienko emphasizes.
He also asserts that someone must finally force Russia and the other Caspian states to comply with the agreement on the joint use of the Caspian Sea, which, by the way, Putin actively lobbied for and promoted. This agreement, the expert explains, states that none of the Caspian states that signed it have the right to use the Caspian Sea for aggression against a third state. Therefore, Russia has violated it, which is also a sign of disrespect toward the other signatory countries.
