Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman stated that Russia is playing a major role in the confrontation between the United States and Iran.
He spoke about this on his blog.
According to the expert, he has long said that this is World War III, and that one day history textbooks will mark the date of its beginning. He also reflects that it is still unknown what this war will ultimately be called, since World War I was initially referred to as the Imperialist War and only became known as the First World War after World War II.
“I came up with the term — the First Digital War. Not world, but digital. Because the modern methods used to wage war have gone digital. A digital war. It’s no coincidence that our Minister of Digital Transformation suddenly became the Minister of Defense. Yes, real people are fighting, just as before, but without digital methods this entire war becomes meaningless. A tank is just a pile of metal, but a smart drone in the hands of smart people is capable of much more,” explains Mikhail Sheitelman.
The expert also notes that Russia plays a significant role in the confrontation between the U.S. and Iran. Under a €500 million contract, Russian air defense systems are reportedly to be delivered there. Russia also provides financial and military assistance to Hamas and Hezbollah. A new direction, he adds, is Belarus, where Russians allegedly want to conduct exercises again similar to those that preceded the invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
“They predict that Putin’s silence is connected to preparations for aggression against European countries, possibly against the Baltic states. Everything is becoming reality. Add to this ‘Oreshnik.’ Yes, ‘Oreshnik’ is not a real weapon — it’s clearly just an image — but they brought it to Belarus as if to say, ‘What are you going to do about it?’ By the way, Volodymyr Zelenskyy called on Europe to recognize ‘Oreshnik’ in Belarus as a legitimate military target so it could be struck. These are Russian missiles. So why can’t they be targeted? Why can’t Russian bases in Belarus be targeted? You can’t strike Belarus itself, but Russian bases there can be,” concluded Mikhail Sheitelman.
