Political strategist Mikhail Sheitelman stated that Ukraine became a harsh reality for Putin, and Iran for Trump, and that without international law none of this can be resolved, Politeka reports.
He spoke about this on his blog.
According to Trump, the expert says, the United States could unblock the Strait of Hormuz, but this would require the consent of both sides, and it is still unclear whether Iran has laid mines there. Overall, he notes, one can only sympathize with Zelenskyy, because in negotiations with Trump he is apparently hearing similar statements.
“But everyone flatly refused him. Every country said it would not help him unblock the strait. You started the war — you fight it to the end. Your war — we’re ‘for it.’ And Trump says he will announce which countries he is disappointed in. He has been disappointed in us so many times, disappointed in Putin so many times… Now South Korea — get used to it. Germany — get used to it, the United Kingdom — get used to it. The UAE — get used to it. Yes, you gave him a plane, but he is disappointed in you,” Mikhail Sheitelman explains.
It would be ironic, he continues, if Trump asked Putin for help, but Russian ships would not be able to reach the Strait of Hormuz because they would be sunk along the way by our drones and unmanned boats — whose very existence, by the way, Trump had denied.
“Will the war in Iran sober Trump up? I don’t know, but it has brought someone living in a world of fantasies face to face with harsh reality. Putin once faced it too. Putin ran into us, and we became his harsh reality, while Trump ran into everything at once. I don’t think it’s about the Iranians or the Iranian people, but about the fact that a regime can behave like this. You said there is no international law — well, here’s your answer. Why shouldn’t they have the right to strike the Emirates? There’s no international law, right? You said so yourself. Everything is within your own moral framework, brother. NATO allies? But you yourself said you’re the most important one,” Mikhail Sheitelman concludes.
