Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko stated that if partners want Ukraine’s help with Iranian drones, they should allow Ukraine to take control of Russia’s shadow fleet.

He said this in his blog.

According to the expert, in addition to providing assistance in the Middle East, Ukraine is also planning to deploy drone interception groups at a British base in Cyprus. Moreover, he adds, the president stated that Ukraine is reaching a level where it will be able to produce surface drones capable of operating even in the open ocean, which will be of interest to many countries.

“We still need to finish off the Russian fleet in the Black Sea. And then, you know what I was thinking? It would be great if we could reach agreements with the British that we help them in Cyprus with their base, and at the same time quietly monitor the movement of Russia’s shadow fleet in the Mediterranean, preventing it from operating normally there,” Oleksandr Musiienko reflects.

The expert also notes that it would be possible to reach agreements with Northern European countries and the Baltic states, with which Ukraine has very good relations, to block Russia’s shadow fleet in the Baltic Sea. These countries, he emphasizes, are actively supporting Ukraine, so by mutual agreement such steps could be taken.

“So it would be quite a good arrangement: we provide you with drone assistance, and you give us the opportunity to control Russia’s shadow fleet to prevent it from going out to sea. I believe this could be an equivalent, mutually beneficial agreement. We would deprive Vladimir Putin of a very significant economic resource and budget revenues,” explains Oleksandr Musiienko.
