Political expert and serviceman Oleksandr Musiienko explained that while Russia continues shelling Ukraine, it acts differently toward Europe—engaging in subversive activities from within, reports Politeka.
He spoke about this on his blog.
“The enemy carried out another missile-and-drone strike on the territory of Ukraine. By the way, just the fact itself. You’ve probably seen the map from Bild. In reality, these are not Bild maps, but ones from The Telegraph dating back to 2025. That map showed that Russia would deploy its forces to attack the Baltic states as early as this year, using a window of opportunity—the fact that the U.S. is focused on the Middle East and that things are not going very well in Europe. But the strike on Ukrainian territory refutes all this. Why? Russia is using missiles for the war against Ukraine. If they were preparing an offensive against the Baltic states now, they would be stockpiling these missiles and drones rather than launching them at Ukraine,” Oleksandr Musiienko comments.
According to him, Russia is achieving certain goals in Europe even without direct attacks. In particular, the expert says that The Washington Post reports—citing one European intelligence service—that Russia is openly analyzing socio-political sentiments in Hungary and advising Viktor Orbán and his political team on what to do. In other words, he states, Russia is dividing Europe, which has already led to a delay in allocating a €90 billion loan to Ukraine.
“It is very naïve to think that if Vladimir Putin is not attacking the Baltic states, then everything is calm. Not at all. On the contrary, all these manifestations must be countered. And Ukraine is ready to help preserve Europe’s unity. We are not interested in having an ‘orchestra’ of states, as some want and think it would be better—that Hungary should be outside the EU, Italy too, and everyone making their own decisions…,” Oleksandr Musiienko explains.
Thus, the expert concludes, the Baltic states can breathe a sigh of relief: Russia continues its war against Ukraine and continues its missile-and-drone attacks.
