“‘A strike has been delivered against our enemy’s ally’: an expert assessed the consequences of the war in the Middle East for Ukraine

Ideologue Oles Doniy explained that in the short term, a U.S. war against Iran is beneficial for Ukraine because Iran is an ally of Russia. However, in the long run, Putin will be able to profit from it to wage war against us, Politeka reports. He spoke about this in his blog.

‘This is a sense of uplift, satisfaction, a thirst for revenge. It is completely natural for any person, because Iran is an ally of fascist Russia. It first supplied “Shaheds,” which kill Ukrainians, and later also provided the technology for producing and scaling such drones, known as “Geran.” Accordingly, Ukrainians were genuinely pleased that a strike was delivered against our enemy’s ally. This is a short-term reaction,’ Oles Doniy notes.

At the same time, the expert points out that the war against Iran was initiated specifically by Trump; it was not a decision of Congress. Europe, although it disagrees with the current U.S. position on aid to Ukraine, did not object. Thus, he states, there is no coalition of troops from different countries as there was in Iraq or Afghanistan, but no one particularly dares to oppose the United States, and Ukraine in this situation stands as a united front with the West against Iran.

However, in the medium term, he emphasizes, the U.S. war against Iran allows Russia to earn more from oil and thus continue fighting and killing Ukrainians. Therefore, the expert concludes, Ukraine is not interested in a prolonged war in the Middle East.

‘We are interested in this war ending as soon as possible so that fascist Russia does not receive its dividends. Unfortunately, for now the war continues, and we have no geopolitical leverage over the situation. This is also why the trilateral negotiation process between fascist Russia, Ukraine, and the United States has stalled during these hostilities. Obviously, Trump and his administration are now less focused on Ukraine and more concerned with what to do about Iran. The conclusion is that geopolitics is never black and white,’ Oles Doniy explains.”
