Polish public official Piotr Kulpa stated that Trump is now doing more to drag down his allies in Europe than to help them, and that Orbán’s defeat in the elections would be a victory for the EU, Politeka reports.
He said this on the “7 Steps” channel.
“Those who positioned themselves as Trump’s friends are now receiving from him the kiss of death—political death. This is happening all across Europe. If the presidential elections in Poland were taking place now, Mr. Nawrocki, with Trump’s support, would never win. At this point, Trump is a touch of failure. That’s how it can be described,” Kulpa emphasized.
According to him, given the current balance within the EU, Orbán’s victory in Hungary’s parliamentary elections will indeed be a difficult matter. However, if he loses, there will be a certain window of time before the elections in Bulgaria, which is also a complex issue, as certain forces position themselves as a stronghold of the Kremlin within the EU—something we also observe in the Czech Republic. Nevertheless, the program’s guest notes that a wave of discontent is inevitably rising after Vance’s well-known speech in Munich, where he accused Europe, and after everything else that has been said in Washington—so this is a plus for Ukraine.
He also stressed that Hungary is not just a neighbor, but also a matter related to aggression. The guest recalled an episode when Putin allegedly proposed to Tusk that Ukraine be divided; the Polish prime minister, of course, dismissed it, but such a proposal could also have been made to Hungary, especially as claims regarding Transcarpathia soon followed.
“We see that Orbán positions himself like a mouse before a lion in relation to Russia, and so on. All of this reveals an incredible level of closeness with Moscow. Afterward, we will certainly see the full tragedy of the situation that Budapest, together with Moscow, was preparing for Ukraine,” Piotr Kulpa concluded.
