Political technologist Mykhailo Sheitelman stated that Russia’s “security zone” means getting stuck in Vovchansk for two years, so whatever Putin says, they will not be able to protect their border regions, reports Politeka.

He said this in his blog.

“Putin managed to overcome his fear. Yes, such an unhidden fear. Since the beginning of this year, he has not mentioned the war once, and yesterday he suddenly emerged from the fog. From the fog of war, Putin suddenly appeared. It turns out he is still interested in the war. We thought he had long since switched exclusively to the economy, but he came out and started talking,” Mykhailo Sheitelman notes.

According to the expert, Putin stated that they are gradually creating a security zone and will continue to do so until they eliminate the threat to their border regions. And the reason, he explains, is that Ukraine attacks these border regions every day, causing growing discontent there. Therefore, Putin is openly saying they will occupy parts of the Sumy, Kharkiv, and Chernihiv regions. However, the expert emphasizes that things are not going well for the Russians, since they entered Vovchansk two years ago and still have not advanced.

Previously, he comments, Israeli forces entered Lebanon 20 km so that the Lebanese could not shell Israel, but later terrorists obtained missiles that could be launched from 100 km away. The same, the expert stresses, will happen with this security zone, because Ukraine now has more long-range drones than Russia.

“The governor of Leningrad Oblast said: ‘We are a frontline region. We have always been a border region, and now we are a frontline one.’ How far do we strike the Leningrad region? Over 1,000 km. So in order for Putin to protect the Leningrad region, he would have to reach Berlin or Paris, but he hasn’t grown the legs to walk to Paris or Berlin. Do you understand the mathematical paradox? Like Achilles and the tortoise. Achilles will never catch the tortoise. Every time the Russians advance 1 km, our drones start flying 100 km further. That’s his entire security belt,” concludes Mykhailo Sheitelman.
