Political strategist Mykhailo Sheitelman commented on intelligence reports that Putin fears an assassination attempt or a coup, and assessed whether the end of the Russian dictator is approaching, Politeka reports. He spoke about this on his blog.

“Putin is not afraid of a strike by Ukrainian drones—personally, I mean. Maybe he worries about the parade. But personally, he fears strikes from entirely different drones. If before this was just my own idea, my personal belief, now there is plenty of evidence to support it,” Sheitelman emphasizes.

According to him, CNN and “Important Stories” have reported on a conspiracy against Putin. These are independent media outlets that publish information not to destabilize the situation, but simply to inform. However, the expert notes, CNN and “Important Stories” learned this from European intelligence, which deliberately leaked the information in order to increase tension within the so-called Russian elites.

“I do have a feeling that Putin is nearing his end. I have that feeling. I don’t know the timeframe, but Putin has never looked this pale during the entire war. I even recall May 9, 2022, when everyone joked that Putin was sitting under a blanket. Now things are much worse. And look at what we’re actually observing: Putin fears an assassination attempt and a coup, conflict among the силовики (security elites) is escalating, according to intelligence from an EU country,” Sheitelman claims.

As the expert explains, the press reports that the Kremlin is concerned about leaks of sensitive information—namely about Putin himself—as well as the risk of a conspiracy or coup attempts, including those involving drones. In his view, this is the key to current events: Putin fears not Ukrainian drones, which would have to fly a thousand kilometers first, but those that could take off from inside the Kremlin towers.
