Military expert Oleg Starikov commented on Ukrainian Armed Forces strikes against enemy logistics and explained the broader objective of this operational-strategic campaign on the southern flank, according to Politeka.
He discussed the issue on his channel.
According to the expert, the strikes are targeting the federal highway R-280 Novorossiya Highway, which forms part of the land corridor between Russia and Crimea. In addition, he noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are also striking bridges leading to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.
“Why is this being done? Let me explain in simple terms. All of this has now taken on an informational dimension. Most attention is being focused on fuel shortages. However, that is more of an information and psychological component. In reality, the primary objective of these strikes is to disrupt or restrict the logistics, combat support, and rear-area support of the Russian Armed Forces’ East Grouping under General Ivanayev and the Dnepr Grouping under General Teplinsky, which are conducting combat operations on the southern and eastern flanks,” Oleg Starikov explains.
According to the expert, if Ukrainian forces succeed in continuing to push the enemy back on the southern flank, Russia will need to deploy operational or strategic reserves there in order to contain and localize the situation. He argues that such reserves could be drawn from Crimea.
“That is why this logistics network is being targeted. This is what is called information support of the theater of military operations, linked to a cover story. In other words, it is intended to sow panic and dissatisfaction. This is part of conducting a special military operation,” Oleg Starikov concluded.
