Political analyst and serviceman of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Musiienko, commented on Zelenskyy's statement that relay stations in Belarus used to guide Shahed drones toward Ukrainian cities have ceased operating, Politeka reports.

He discussed the issue on his blog.

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, the expert noted that there has indeed been a decrease in the intensity of Russian attack drone flights through the Chernihiv region. In recent days, there have been no mass Shahed drone flights along the Belarus–Ukraine border, which had been actively recorded just a week earlier, particularly during Russia’s two large-scale attacks on the nights of June 2 and June 15. At the same time, the expert pointed out that similar pauses in the operation of relay stations on Belarusian territory had been observed before, so it is still too early to draw conclusions.

“However, the President emphasizes that the relay stations are not operating. Perhaps, if this is not the result of our actions or a special operation on our part, Lukashenko switched them off because he was afraid that the deadline of the ultimatum fairly issued by Zelenskyy regarding the cessation of assistance to Russia in carrying out terrorist attacks against Ukraine was approaching,” Oleksandr Musiienko suggested.

If the attacks resume, he argues, Ukraine has the right to strike the relay stations. According to the expert, this would demonstrate Ukraine’s capabilities to both Russia and Belarus and show what could happen to Russian and Belarusian forces if they begin concentrating near the Belarus–Ukraine border or preparing offensive operations toward the Chernihiv or Kyiv regions.

“Regarding the Chernihiv region, the Regional Military Administration has announced the evacuation of 12 settlements. Does this mean preparations are already underway for an imminent Russian-Belarusian strike on the Chernihiv region? No, friends. These are preventive measures related to the enemy’s shelling of our border areas and aimed at protecting civilians who remain there. This is the right thing to do. I believe you will agree with me,” Oleksandr Musiienko explained.
